Un dia miércoles Sofía iba a la jardinería. Cuando ella llegó grito por ver que todas las verduras y frutas estaban mordidas. Otras ni habían crecido. Sofía se preguntaba, “¿Por qué está todo marchito?”Dijo después, ella se acordó que no las estaba cuidando bien. Ella no sabía que hacer para recuperar todo su jardín ya que todo se le había harvinado. Días después un señor le dijo que él había visto su jardín, y le dijo “Hola vi tu jardín, yo puedo ayudarte. ”Sofia dijo “Hola asi esta bien muchas gracias.” Ya que el señor la ayudó le agradeció mucho. Sara pudo entender que tenía que ser más cuidados a cuidar su jardín.
Backstory
In spring 2024, fifth graders in Mr. Belmont’s class at Laurel Dell Elementary in San Rafael worked with architects from Youth in Arts, UC Berkeley’s Y-Plan, and mentors from the City of San Rafael, the Canal Alliance, and the Marin School of Environmental Leadership on a challenge from the Union of Concerned Scientists: How can we reduce the environmental impacts of climate change and sea level rise, while creating a more resilient San Rafael? This poster showing ideas for Home and Garden was one of their answers.
